Responsible for all aspects of
the quality systems, maintains and facilitates continuous
improvement of Quality System tools; acts as ISO Management
Representative and is the lead person for evaluating customer
quailty issues, and review government contract quality items.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Acts as ISO Management
Representative and point contact person for the Quality System
Registration. - Schedules and coordinates audits, communicates audit
findings to the organization and facilitates corrective action to
issues raised durng audit. Ensures ongoing compliance with ISO
requirements. Incorporates the EHS Manager for the portion of the
ISO audit for the 14000 process. - Develops and implements annual
Internal Audit plan and facilitates documentation and closure to any
pertinent finds. - Provides auditor taining and audit process
support. - Gathers, anaylzes and summarizes Quality System
performance measures at regular intervals. - Provides regular
reports of Quality Systems performance to upper management. -
Maintains Corrective and Preventative Actions database and
facilitates closure to documented actions. - Champions Quality
Systems continuous improvement - implements approved quality
projects by assembling and coordinating appropriate staff for the
project team. - Champions large scale, management approved Quality
System improvement projects as required. - Uses quality tools such
as DOE, Statistical Analysis, Capability Studies, Poke yoke to
access and improve Quality Systems performance. - Monitors and
anlyzes customer complaints for trends indicating need for
Corrective Actions. - Acts as quality spokes person when customer
product quality questions are raised or responses to quality issues
are required. - Performs vendor Quality audits. Provides assessment
of vendor quality system cabability when required. - Supervises
employees of the ISO and Quality Assurance departments and the Shop
Quality Auditors at both the Traverse City and Ludington facilities.
- Acts as back-up for Production Quality Department Supervisor. -
Responsible for quality items and sign off on government contracts.
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Required:
- Bachelors Degree in
Engineering or Quality. - 3 - 5 yrs. related experience or training
in Quality or Engineering field. - ISO Management Rep. experience
and familiarity with ISO 9000/2000 and ISO 14000 standards. - Power
Transmission (Gearing) related experience a plus. - Prior experience
of conducting vendor quality audits and working to have suppliers
meet or exceed business expectations and documentation for quality.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written skills. - Supervisory
experience of salaried and non-exempt hourly employees.
